The Steward Funds are managed exclusively by Capstone Asset Management Company based in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1987, Capstone currently manages nearly $3 billion in equity, bond and balanced accounts with clients in all 50 states.

Ed co-founded Capstone Asset Management Company and serves as President and CEO. He is a member of the Investment Committee and a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager. Ed began his career in 1969 with Philadelphia Life Insurance Company as Manager of Investments and in 1980 became Vice President of Finance. Ed helped to form Tenneco Financial Services in 1981, the predecessor organization to Capstone, and served as Executive Vice President. Ed has earned the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Charter Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) | ||

John serves as Senior Vice President and Equity Portfolio Manager in addition to being a member of the Investment Committee. He began his career in 1983 with The Dreyfus Corporation and in 1987 joined Oppenheimer Capital, as an accounting manager supervising both equity and fixed income mutual funds. In 1992, John joined New Castle Advisers which managed fixed income portfolios and mutual funds. In 1996, New Castle was acquired by Capstone at which time John joined Capstone as a portfolio manager. | ||

Howard is a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager in addition to being a member of the Investment Committee. Howard began his investment career trading financial futures as a local floor trader. During the early 1980’s, he published weekly newsletters on financial futures and debt options at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. In 1984, Howard joined Oppenheimer & Co. to spearhead the Risk Management Group. In 1991, he founded New Castle Advisers, Inc. to manage fixed income portfolios and mutual funds. In 1996, New Castle was acquired by Capstone at which time Howard joined Capstone. | ||

Dan is a co-founder of Capstone and the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. He is also the Senior Equity Portfolio Manager and serves on the Investment Committee. Dan began his career in 1971 with Texas Commerce Bank. In 1977 he joined Tenneco, Inc. and subsequently served as Assistant to the Chairman of the Board. Dan helped to form Tenneco Financial Services in 1981, the predecessor organization to Capstone and served as its President. | ||

Don serves as Senior Vice President in addition to being a member of the Investment Committee. He is involved in Credit Research, Social values screening, and Institutional Sales. Don joined Capstone Asset Management Company in 1996 as Senior Vice President. Prior to joining Capstone, he provided investment services to corporate and nonprofit institutional clients at Piper Jaffray. Previously, he served as a public finance investment banker with Smith Barney, providing capital financing for health care clients. Before entering the financial services industry, he served as Treasurer of Sutter Health, a large multi-facility health care system based in California. In addition to various securities licenses, Don is also a Certified Public Accountant. | ||

Scott Wynant brings over 27 years of experience in financial and investment services to his position as senior vice president. His broad financial background consists of serving as first vice president of Smith Barney for 16 years, and eleven years as executive vice president of AG Financial Trust and Investment Services. Scott was instrumental in the creation of AG Financial Wealth Management Solutions, LLC, and the Steward family of faith-based mutual funds. He served as chief investment officer and member of the AG Financial Investment Committee since 1998 to 2008 and was charged with day-to-day responsibilities of monitoring, implementing and reporting on AG Financial Solutions investments. Scott serves on the Capstone Investment Committee and is Chairman of the Capstone Asset Allocation Committee | ||
